In the underworld, Monostatos guards the princess whom is secretly in love with himself. Tamino's companion Papageno runs ahead and finds the princess.

The priests of Sarastro's "evil" temple. Pamina meets her captor and learns of good and evil.
Pamina watches as her love Tamino and his partner Papageno get taken away to endure their tests that will determine if they are worthy.
Tamino and Papageno decide to do the test to see if they are worthy to receive the loves of theirs lives. The first test is solitude and isolation.

Papageno barely passes his tests of silence but the gods have mercy on him nonetheless. He meets his girl Papagena!
Tamino and Pamina are both honored as members of the priesthood of Sarastro. The Queen of the Night is conquered by the light of the sun.
And they lived happily ever after...!
